Emily Irene VanCamp, a Canadian actor and actress is well-known for her role as the lead in a variety of television programs as well as her outstanding performances in films. There is a huge fanbase both on American and Canadian television. Emily's passion for acting started at the age of 12 when she visited her sister Katie who was making a film with Katie. She started taking classes in acting, and then auditioning following realizing she loved acting. The first time she was cast, she appeared in commercials, but she was not cast until receiving a callback for the Canadian kids' horror TV show Are You Fearful of Darkness? where she was seen in a single scene with any dialog. In the year she turned fifteen, Emily made her first big break when she became regular on the WB Television program Glory Days. Emily's role in Glory Days, a show on WB, which was canceled after nine episodes, attracted the attention and casting of Greg Berlanti from Dawson's Creek. Also a ballet dancer and photographer, Emily was previously ranked as a Teen to be one of their top actresses who are under 20. Maxim's Hot 100 2014 list ranked her at number 51.
