Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. Her family is the fourth Roberts family to have lived in Atlanta. The story began with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. In the early years of his life his father became obsessed by theatre. As a student of Emory University, he performed in a variety of productions in Atlanta. When he was stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, he was inducted into the air force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was in that production as well. The couple got married in the year 1955. Their first son, Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana following his departure from the Air Force in 1957. Walter was hired by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for Bum Bum and His Buddies, which aired in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show for children known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project they self-financed. They established an Actors and Writers Workshop in the year 1964, and it ran for six years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also also known as Julie) at the time.
