Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 during the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci as she was only 6 years old. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she won the title of champion. In her very first international competition in 1972, she won the event having won three golds. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver at her first senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. In 1976, she became the first female athlete in the world to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment business by performing in the form of a figure skater. With her brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career as an entertainer in her teens. She began her career as figure skater, performing alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating that included theatrical performances.
